Children’s Literature 3

Next week we will start planning our oral reports. They will be about 5 minutes long and the topic can be anything related to what we’ve studied this semester (but should be different from your written report): ¬†innovation/invention, infectuous disease, children’s literature.

Children’s Literature 2

In the next class please be prepared to tell us about your favorite children’s book or story. You will need to explain the following:

1. Who are protagonists? Are they orphans (or is there a lack of adults in the story)?

2. What is the plot?

3. Any examples of alliteration, repetition, parallelism, personification, symbolism, imagery, metaphor, or similes?

4. How descriptive is it?

5. Does it have a lesson or moral?

6. Why did you like this story? How has it influenced you?

Children’s Literature 1

Our next unit is about children’s literature so please look through the Wikipedia article HERE and tell us something interesting you found.

Have a happy new year and see you in the next class!

Written Report Due

The final draft of your written report is due at the beginning of the next class. Please send me an email if you have any problems or questions!

Rough Drafts

In the next lesson we will be doing peer editing of your rough drafts. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT for you to do all of your research, write your paper, and bring it to class.

Please contact me if you need help or have any questions.

You can find the website for references HERE.

Next class…

This week start thinking about some topics that you might want to do for the written report that is due on December 19th (or December 22nd for the Thursday class). Your topic should be related to something we studied this semester (innovation, inventions, infectious disases, etc…).

In the next class we will brainstorm topics, you will choose one, then I will help you get your paper organized. The rough draft will then be due the following week.
